Accountability for alleged international crimes in Ukraine

Aarif Abraham has today been speaking at the Association of European Journalists about how to hold Russia accountable for alleged international crimes in the Ukraine, including an initiative to create a Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression.

Aarif has been working alongside fellow international lawyers, led by Prof. Phillippe Sands KC, in setting up a special tribunal in order to try the leadership of the Russian Federation (and possibly Belarus) for the alleged crime of aggression committed in Ukraine.

The work has been covered most recently by EUobserver and Kyiv Post and Aarif co-authored an article on the subject back in May 2022 which we covered here.

Aarif also touched on this work in a short interview with the University of Sarajevo, where he was also asked about his views on justice, accountability and the prevention of human rights violations.
